About Zen

Zen for kids was created to bring calm, balance and mindfulness to a busy world.

We are a family-owned, owner-operated centre designed to feel like a gentle exhale. From the moment you walk through our doors, you’ll notice the light, the stillness, and the steady rhythm of a day built around learning through play, holistic rituals and meaningful relationships.

Our story

At Zen for Kids, we see childhood as a powerful journey, one where everyday moments shape a child’s sense of identity, belonging and wellbeing.

With over 30 years in early childhood education, owner-operator Kristy created Zen for Kids as a place where presence is prioritised over pressure, and emotional wellbeing is valued as deeply as learning.

Mindfulness, nature play, creativity, movement and emotional regulation are woven gently into each day. Every child is honoured as capable and unique, supported to build resilience, confidence and a strong sense of self.

Safety sits at the heart of our practice, with calm, predictable environments, strong supervision and child protection embedded in all we do. Our spaces feel peaceful and natural, and our educators lead with warmth, empathy and intention.

Most importantly, we partner closely with families, fostering a community grounded in respect, gratitude and genuine connection.

Zen for Kids is more than a centre — it’s a calm, heart-led community where children grow with confidence and belonging.

Our team

Each educator is carefully chosen not only for their qualifications and experience, but for their warmth, calm energy and genuine commitment to children’s wellbeing.

We lead with presence, prioritise safety, and build meaningful relationships that help every child feel secure, valued and understood.
