Stars Room
(0-18 months)

Our Stars Room is a calm, nurturing space for our youngest children, designed to feel like a gentle extension of home.

With warm, consistent educators and a predictable daily rhythm, we focus on secure attachments, comfort and responsive care.

Each baby is supported at their own pace, held, soothed and celebrated as they begin their earliest journey of growth.

Building trust from the very start

The first eighteen months are shaped by attachment, rhythm and rapid growth.

Babies need consistent routines, responsive care and warm connection to feel secure. By mirroring home sleep and feeding patterns, we create a sense of familiarity that supports trust and early development.

When their needs are met with calm, predictable care, babies feel safe enough to explore, and that is where confident growth begins.

‘We believe quality care begins with time, attention and meaningful connections.’

How we approach care for the 0–18 month age group

In the Stars Room, we prioritise secure attachments through consistent educators who respond gently and attentively to each baby’s cues. We follow individual home routines for sleep, feeding and comfort, recognising that at this age, care should feel familiar and reassuring.

Our daily rhythm is calm and predictable, creating a sense of safety that supports emotional regulation and early development. Through sensory experiences, music, sound, movement and quiet moments of connection, babies begin exploring the world in a way that feels steady and supported.

We believe this stage is not about rushing milestones, but about building trust. When babies feel safe, held and understood, they develop the confidence to crawl, stand, explore and engage — all in their own time.

Gentle arrivals and personalised care

Each child is welcomed at their own pace, with educators taking time to connect, comfort and support a calm start to the day.

Our days follow children’s natural rhythms, with opportunities for sensory play, movement, exploration and moments of quiet connection.

Sleep and nourishment are never rushed. We follow home routines closely, offering comfort, bottles, soft foods and rest as needed. Kangen water is used in food preparation and hydration throughout the day.

The environment

Nurture • Security • Gentle beginnings

In our Stars Room, the environment is calm, soft and intentionally uncluttered — designed to reduce overstimulation and create a steady sense of security.

Natural textures, soothing colours and open floor spaces encourage movement, tummy time and exploration at each baby’s own pace. Gentle music and sensory elements are woven throughout the day, supporting rest, regulation and early connection.

In our Stars Room, creating a sense of safety and trust is at the heart of everything we do. Our educators build strong, secure relationships with each baby through gentle, responsive care and consistent routines. By taking the time to understand each baby’s cues, needs and home routines, we create a calm and familiar environment where babies feel comforted, nurtured and safe to explore.

In the Stars Room, we work closely with families to follow each baby’s individual feeding routine. Whether babies are bottle-fed, breastmilk-fed or beginning solids, our educators provide gentle, attentive care during feeding times. These moments are unhurried and nurturing, allowing babies to feel comfortable and secure. As babies grow and begin exploring new foods, our two on-site chefs prepare fresh, nutritious meals that support each child’s stage of development and dietary needs. We work in partnership with families to ensure every baby’s nutritional requirements are met in a calm and supportive environment.

The Stars Room follows the regulated educator-to-child ratio of 1 educator to 4 babies. At Zen for Kids, we also provide an additional educator in the room to further support the needs of our babies. This allows for even more individual attention, gentle care and responsive support during these important early months. Our educators take the time to build strong, nurturing relationships with each baby, creating a safe and comforting environment where they can grow and explore with confidence.

In the Stars Room, we understand that every baby has their own sleep patterns and routines. Our educators follow each baby’s individual cues and work closely with families to support their home sleep routine. Sleep is never rushed, and babies are comforted and settled gently in a calm, peaceful environment. This helps babies feel secure, well-rested and supported throughout their day.

Our educators support babies’ development through responsive care, observation and play-based experiences. Sensory exploration, movement, music and meaningful interactions help babies build confidence, curiosity and important early developmental skills.
